This document outlines copywritten software products that I have designed, developed, and implemented.
A group of passionate English teachers started a trend to replace traditional summer reading assignments with teacher led book clubs. I worked with these teachers to create Edu Book Club as a custom solution for schools that wanted to implement the program.
The software allows for integration with school system databases of students, teachers, and classes as well as with the Amazon products API. This also allows for easy importing of books as well as the ability to setup school Amazon stores to sell the books online through the software. Social features allow for students to see what clubs their favorite teachers are leading, what clubs their friends sign up for, and if their favorite books or authors are currently available.
Attendance and grading modules allow for teachers to record assess student performance and export to their schools grading and attendance software.
Many collegiate level art, media, and technical schools bring on professionals from the local community as adjuncts. I worked with the Director of Education at one such school to create an application that allowed the school to post courses they needed taught and adjunct instructors to sign up teach those courses.
The software allows for importing courses from common course management software as well as manual input of courses. Adjunct login credentials can come directly from an internal school system or be added manually as well.
An additional email system allows school administrators to approve adjunct sign ups via email and send automated confirmation to teachers with course information, as well as classes that have approved teachers from the site.
This grade book software came out of a need I had while teaching web design and development at the college level to keep track of homework assignments, midterms, and final projects.
The software allows for teachers to add students, classes, and assignments. Students can login to check their grades and view comments about their assignments.
An additional add on application pulls up student assignments in the browser for easier grading. The software has an add on version that allows for integration with a CMS like ExpressionEngine or WordPress.
A grade book module for ExpressionEngine that allows for teachers to keep track of student grades.
An ExpressionEngine module that allows for members to allow belong to multiple member groups.
A simple ExpressionEngine add on that displays the number of entries in any given category.
Currently, I am not available for software design or development. However, my company,
Wide Sky Web Co. provides software and application services.
